You need the following material and utensils for this:

  • a soft fabric (mass approx. 50cm x 50cm)
  • Sewing yarn
  • Cardboard/ stronger handicraft paper as a template
  • Scissors
  • Sewing and embroidery needles
  • Satin band
Thread cord
  1. First of all, make the pattern. Simply break the cuddly toy pattern on a piece of paper so that you have the basic mass and the individual elements on hand. Tip: If you do not have a pattern, simply draw up the shape of a dachshund and the ears on paper by hand. This gives you a simple pattern, on the basis of which you can also sew cuddly animals. After a short search, there are already dozens of patterns on almost every topic.
  2. Take the fabric on hand and put it together twice. You now have two layers of the fabric in front of you. Now place the template so that you leave a good centimeter to the edges as a sewing edge. It also makes sense to put the animal's back directly on the edge, so that you can save a longer seam in advance. Put the template with sewing needles and now record the cut lines.
  3. Now cut out the elements. The body and ears are now in front of them.
  4. First sew the body elements together. Be sure to leave part of the seam on the belly side so that you can still bring in the filling after turning. Now cut back the seam allowances a little. Cut them on the corners and cut them on the curves so that small triangles are created.
  5. Now turn the blanks on the right. The seams are now inside. Put the filling into the stomach over the small opening. Now sew the body together completely. Also drive your ears in the same way. The ears are then sewn with a simple stitch on the body.
  6. With black yarn you are welcome to attach a few eyes with the help of the cross stitch or like to hire a snout or a nose. Finally, put the satin tape over as a collar.
